Women who arrived at the Forum of Directors conference of the ultra-Orthodox newspaper Hatzofe in Jerusalem claim they were not allowed to attend the event because it was for men only. Conference speakers included, among others, Minister of Finance Yuval Schteinitz, and the mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat.

The State Comptroller, Micha Lindenstraus, published a special report, covering the firefighting and life-saving system in Israel and the people responsible for its status and functioning during the Carmel fire. The report charges Minister of the Interior Eli Yishai, Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is a series of failures, causing the system to fail during fire. The Carmel fire cost the lives of 42 people and laid waste to tens of thousands of dunams of woodland. (Hebrew)

Even though Prime Minister Binaymin Netanyahu has appointed (Hebrew) a committee to look into the Ultra-Orthodox Living Allowances bill, the Minister of Finances, Yuval Schteinitz, has already set the cost of the bill as part of the new, two year, national budget, which has been approved by the Knesset.
