The Central District Court rejected a petition by Mohammed Karim Yones, a security prisoner, requesting the renewal of his university studies in the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.  The request was originally rejected by the Prison Service, claiming that studies are a privilege and that the prisoner can finish his studies after he is released, even though he is serving a life sentence.

Arab students in the University of Haifa have complained to the Council for Higher Education, claiming that the institution is discriminating against them during the admission process.

“Im Tirtzu” activist have begun distributing a new booklet titled nakba kharta – ”Nakba BS”, which claims the Nakba is “an impudent scam”. The booklet is initially being distributed in schools and universities.

The Ministry of Education published (Hebrew) an ad last week in the ultra-Orthodox media, setting down the criteria to receive a scholarship, One of the criteria is that only ultra-Orthodox who study in colleges which segregate men and women are eligible. Ultra-Orthodox students studying at a university will have to give the scholarship.
