Knesset Member David Rotem (Yisrael Beitenu) has received death threats after having initiated the Military Conversion to Judaism Act, which prohibits the revocation of conversions to Judaism made inside the Israel army. “Your fate will be worse than Ariel Sharon’s because you are breaking the Nation of Israel.” This message was left in English on MK Rotem’s home voicemail. Rotem stated that “I know the ultra-orthodox and their specialty of threats and curses. I won’t give them the pleasure of having a security detail assigned to me due to these threats. I say to them: call me and we’ll schedule a time and date. I will wait for them.” (Hebrew; English.)
