Shabak (Israeli secret service) interrogator who remained unknown, has summoned a Rabbi of a synagogue in the Tel-Aviv area, and banned him from entering the West Bank. The interrogation occured following lessons and other activities, which the Rabbi conducted, in order to prevent social ties between Jewish women and Arab men.

Shmuel Eliyahu, Safed municipal rabbi, was summoned for police interrogation on suspicion of racist incitement following the rabbis’ letter, which prohibits renting apartments to non-Jews. Rabbi Eliyahu declared that he does not intend to come to the interrogation. According to Rabbi Eliyahu, “it is the right and obligation of a rabbi to decide Halachic law for people who inquire about it. We have done so in the past and we will also do so int he future.” (Hebrew)
