The headmaster of the “Od Yoseph Khai” yeshiva in Yizhar, rabbi Yizhak Shapira, said he supports the letter of the rabbis who forbade renting apartments to gentiles, and said the letter doesn’t go far enough. According to Shapira, “activism must be employed in the issue of, as others before me defined it, ‘Arabs out’, and the rabbis must take hyper-responsibility to the issue of activism in war.” Shapira further said that he supports “Neighbor Procedure”, i.e. the usage of Palestinians as human shields, since “it is a moral deformity, in any shape or form, to take people of a civilized nation and spill their blood in order to harm people of a debased nation”.
