A senior officer of the Religious Services Ministry criticized the media and the Zohar Rabbis, after the latter condemned the rabbis who had issued a religious verdict prohibiting rental of real estate to non-Jews. He said that “the great majority of rabbis who have signed onto the letter are enlightened, nationalist-religious rabbis who are military veterans, just as they love and worship them. They don’t mention that. These are selective morals.” (Hebrew)

Harel Hetzroni, who works with youth in trouble and participates in “actions to rescue Jewish girls from Arab villages”, wrote – as a response to the criticism of the religious ruling forbidding renting apartments to gentiles – that the ruling is a “defense of our basic need in our country against the Arabs”. According to Hetzroni, Arab youth avail themselves of old women “who know ancient traditions of concocting drugs of illusion and passion”, in order to seduce Jewish girls to date them. Hetzroni ended his letter with these words: “These words were written by the blood of my heart, and particularly in the dripping blood of religious girls, some no longer alive today, whose verdict was sealed by the loving words rained on them by the sons of Ishmael”.
