A report by “Latet” organization shows that one fifth of all children in Israel experience days without food, and that 59% of all needy children skip entire meals. This is up 48% from the past two years.

According to the alternative poverty index of “Latet”, an advocacy organization, there are 1.77 million poor people residing in Israel; over 850 thousand of them are children. 75% of the poor have to give up dinners due to their economical status – a rise of 21%, compared to last year. 69% of the poor said they were unable to pay for food necessary for basic living, and they are supported by food-distribution societies.
