During a “Land Day” protest in Gaza, 20 year old Mahmoud Zakut was shot to death by IDF soldiers. Zakut was shot near the Erez crossing in the north of the Gaza strip. According to Palestinian sources, 80 protesters were injured in clashes in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, including Palestinian Parliament Member Mustafa Barghouti, who was struck in the head by a gas canister. In Rachel Crossing near Bethlehem 3 Palestinians were injured, one of them moderately injured when a piece of shrapnel from a gas canister hit his eye. According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, 340 people were injured in protests across the West Bank.

The Ministry of Education has requested from schools in Arab municipalities to provide lists of schools and teachers who went on strike during the Land Day (a Palestinian memorial day).
