MK Danny Danon today responded to Im Tirzu’s report, saying “we are in an unrelenting crusade against gross intervention by foreign anti-Israeli countries against the state of Israel. It is time to shut all sources of Arab or European funding that feed incitement against Israel, and force upon us their attitudes though the naiveté that exists in a democratic regime.”

During a special hearing at the Knesset Education Committee, representatives of the Bnei Brak and Jerusalem municipalities presented data showing that, since the beginning of the school year, 40 girls remain with no formal educational arrangement. The girls are students of a Sephardic background that religious Ashkenazi seminaries refuse to enroll. Adv. Yoav Lalum, the GM of Noar Kahalacha, claimed during the hearing that the representatives are in fact lying and the phenomenon is much wider.

Minister Michael Eitan wrote Prime Minister Netanyahu to state that Deputy Minister Danny Ayalon knowingly misled the Knesset and the public in a speech to the Knesset, when he said that he was speaking for the Israeli government in expressing his support for the establishment of the parliamentary committee of inquiry on the subject of the financing of Israeli organizations engaged in the delegitimization of Israeli soldiers. During a debate in the Knesset committee – dealing with the forfeiture of pay and other benefits from an MK who does not show up for an interrogation, a trial, or the carrying out of his sentence – the chairman of the Balad party, Dr. Jamal Zahalaka, said (Hebrew) to the chairman of the committee, MK Yariv Levin (Likud): “You are a spiritual pygmy, and unfit for serving in your position”. Zahalaka added that Levin “is a racist and a fascist”. This came after Levin told Zahalaka that he shouldn’t serve in the Knesset and that he is a supporter of terrorist organization.
