The Haifa Magistrate’s Court sentenced police investigator Avraham Kalifa to 14 months in prison after he was convicted of abuse of authority, breach of trust, and indecent assault. The investigator conducted the indecent act to a young woman who came to the station to give testimony.

Haifa Magistrate’s Court Justice Yehiel Lifshitz convicted police officer Amir Rabah, who served as head of the patrol watch in the Karmiel Police station, of assaulting a teen while driving with him in a patrol car in 2009.

A Haifa couple, Nataly Halon and Samer Hawwa, have won a court case against the Israel Airports Authority and will be compensated for a humiliating security check at the Eilat airport.  Haifa Magistrates’ Court justice Rachel Hoze determined that the authority’s personnel humiliated the couple, and forced Halon to remain naked for 90 minutes, wearing only her underwear.

Yaakov Meshulam, who served for years as the head of the Police Coast Region traffic claims office, was sentenced to seven months in prison by the Haifa Magistrates’ Court.  Meshulam was convicted as part of a plea bargain for accepting bribes in exchange for closing traffic cases.
