Unknown persons slashed the tires of 14 cars and spray-painted messages on the elementary school, public buildings and three cars, including “death to Arabs,” “revenge” and “regards from the Ulpana,” referring to the Israeli government’s decision to uphold a High Court ruling to evacuate five homes in the Ulpana outpost that were illegally built on Palestinian-owned land. The message “Regards from Gilad Farm” was sprayed on the wall of the village’s elementary school.

Palestinians driving on the northern part of Route 60, dubbed “the Gilad Route”, near Gilad Ranch and Yitzhar, claim that in recent months, stone throwing by settlers became a common routine. They added that in response, the IDF closed the road to Palestinians.

Soldiers from the Kfir Brigade, brothers-in-arms to Shimon Weizman, of the illigal settlement “Gilad Ranch”, supported him after he was sentenced to military jail. Weizman was convicted for deserting from the service, following the demolition of his unautherized home. Two more soldiers in basic trainning, were asked if they were loyal to their commanders or to their Rabby; after replying that they preferred to by loyal to their Rabby, they were expeled from the Company. Other soldiers in the same Platoon said that they will not support the policy of the regiment commander, and warned that they may start a rebellion.

Tires were burned and Arab cars stoned on Gilad road, near the Gilad Ranch. Masked men went into the village of Assira Al-Kibaliyah near Yitzhar, uprooted plants, threw stones at houses and set fire to a cement mixer. Border Patrol forces that arrived at the scene were blocked at the gate, and later a Border Patrol vehicle that entered the settlement had its tire punctured.

Following the shooting attack in Beig Haggai yesterday, settlers threw rocks and Molotov cocktails and uprooted plants. The “Yesha Council” also declared a unilateral end of the construction freeze. The price-tag pogroms were focused on the Benjamin region, primarily at Gilad Ranch, Giv’at Assaf Junction, and the Yitzhar outpost.
