Sources in Galei Tzahal, the Military Radio station, claim that officials from the staff of Defense Minister Ehud Barak, are trying to intervene in the station programmes. The sources claim that Barak’s decision to oust the current station commander, Yitzhak Tunik, is an attempt of Barak to strengthen his control over the station.

The “Sharakah” forum of organizations for shared, democratic and equal society has filed a complaint to the director of Galei Tzahal (IDF Radio station), against radio hosts Avri Gilad and Jackie Levy. In their show ”The Last Word”, Gilad and Levy said that in the Arab sector there are many weapons which could be turned against Israel, and that people who shoot their relatives will have no problem shooting police officers.
