The Tel-Aviv Magistrates’ Court acquitted a defendant charged with possession of a knife, after it was determined that he was discriminated against due to being an Arab.

The police prevented 15 activists from the Zochrot organization from leaving the organization’s offices in Tel-Aviv, imprisoning them in the building for approximately four hours, while threatening to arrest anyone who tried to leave the building,  telling them that they will not be allowed to disrupt public order.  Three of the activists were arrested.

A woman from Bangladesh who entered Israel through the Lebanese border after having been physically and emotionally abused by her Lebanese employers was held in an Israeli prison for two months without a hearing because the Population and Immigration Authority delayed dealing with her case.  The woman was imprisoned in the Kishon Prison, a criminal detention center, and later transferred to the Givon Prison where illegal residents are held.
