A company called Lowel Investment, and which is tied to the Elad Association, has given notice to the Wajou family that it must vacate its home in the Abu Thiab house, which is located in the heart of the City of David archeological site, in the Silwan neighborhood of East Jerusalem.  David Beeri, the Chairman of Elad, admitted about a year ago that he sometimes serves as the Israeli representative of Lowel Investment in its purchases in Israel.

In a preliminary reading, the Knesset passed an initiative to allow privately owned corporations to manage sites of national importance, in order to legalize the operation of the “City of David National Park” by the “Ir David” Foundation, which works to “Judaize” East Jerusalem.

The Government together with a group headed by Member of Knesset Israel Hasson (Kadima), this week renewed the plan to approve an amendment to the National Parks Law, allowing to transfer management of parks to privately owned corporations. The move is intended in part to legalize the activity of the Elad Association, which today manages the “City of David National Park “.
