Education Minister Gideon Sa’ar (Likud) is expected to appoint new representatives to the Council for Higher Education in the coming month.  Among the candidates for the council cited by Sa’ar are Prof. Tzila Sinouani Stern and Prof. Tali Einhorn from the Ariel University Center, located on the West Bank.

The Education Minister Gideon Sa’ar is delaying for a year now a plan prepared by the Ministry of Education’s Committee For Civic Studies, to involve the Arab’s narrative to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, within the framework of these studies.

Some government ministers intend to attend the inauguration ceremony for new settlement “Ma’ale Zeitim”, in Ras al-Amud neighborhood in East Jerusalem next week. The ceremony will be held during the visit of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the United States. Among the guests in the ceremony will be Education Minister Gideon Saar (Likud), Minister of Environmental Protection Gilad Arden (Likud), Ministry of Interior Eli Yishai (Shas) and Minister of Science Daniel Hershkovitz (“Jewish Home”). In addition, Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin (Likud), and the mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, will attend. The event is an initiative of the neighborhood committee, “Ateret Cohanim” Yeshiva, the Jerusalem lobby in the Knesset, and Dr. Irving Moskowitz, sponsor of the neighborhood, and his wife Cherna.
