Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (Likud) has decided to approve the construction of approximately 3,000 housing units in East Jerusalem and West Bank settlements, including in area E1, which connects Jerusalem with the settlement Ma’aleh Adumim. (Haaretz)

Unknown vandalists slashed the tires of 8 Palestinian owned vehicles in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat.  One of the vehicles had the slogan “Price Tag Gaza” spray-painted on it.

Jerusalem’s Prosecutor’s Office will cancel all charges against Udai Biomi, Resident of the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Beit Hanina, who was held for 21 days on charges of aggravated assault of a police officer based on the testimony of two Border Police officers.  CCTV footage shown in the courtroom revealed that it was actually Biomi who was assaulted by the officers. Yesterday, the Jerusalem District Court acquitted five East Jerusalem residents aged 15-18 of participation in disturbances of the peace in the village of Silwan in March 2011, after having spent a year and a quarter in jail or house arrest.  During the trial, numerous discrepancies were found between what was heard in interrogation tapes and what the investigators later reported, and that in cases where there were no recordings, the transcripts the investigators prepared after the fact were partial and misleading.
