The Ministry of Environmental Protection decided to erase the name of the head of the Jordan Valley Regional Council, Yossi Vardi, from an indictment filed against the District Council and the Regional Water Association for the Jordan River pollution. The Regional Council and the Regional Water Association will pay a fine of 400 thousand NIS for polluting the river for many years. At that time, the Bedouin Council of Tel Sheva was fined 130 thousand NIS for six months of pollution in Be’er Sheva creek. The head of their Regional Council was prosecuted following a flow of sewage which streamed into the creek, and was convicted under a plea bargain.
