Closed Society: September 14, 2011
The Civil Administration in the West Bank will commence in the coming months to remove Bedouin citizens from their present living area to permanent habitations. This is part of a plan being put together by the Administration, to evacuate all Bedouins in the “C” area of the West Bank, from lands they have been occupying for decades.

A new report by the Negev Coexistence Forum for Civil Equality reveals: under-representation of Arabs in state service in the Southern District; Poor governmental services in Beduin towns, and in government offices in Be’er Sheba, where there are only two signs in the Arabic language.

Police: 16 February, 2011
Israel Land Administration’s people, accompanied by police forces, have demolished last night the Beduin village El Arakib, for the 17th time. The policemen used demonstration dispersion measures, and shot sponge bullets at residents and protesters. In a video shot by one of the residents, policemen were shown jumping over one of the protesters lying on the ground, and moving on.

The Beer Sheva District Court has issued a temporary restraining order prohibiting work in the Bedouin village of Al Arakib, after members of the Al Touri tribe argued that Israel Land Authority had started preparing the ground for planning on land to which they claim ownership. The court decided that there is a risk of the State changing the facts on the ground, and for this reason the work on site must stop. In response, an ILA representative said that “the decision in question is ludicrous.”
