The Prime Minister’s Office demanded that Prof. Rivka Feldhay, a faculty member of Tel Aviv University, cancel her participation in a meeting between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Netanayhu with academics in Berlin, because of her political views and criticism of government policy. (Haaretz)

The consumers’ channel of the Nrg-Ma’ariv site published an article, providing tips for the purchase of an academic work, even though this is an ethical and criminal violation. The reporter, Ben Zehavi, writes that “needless to say, this article is not an encouragement or a recommendation to put your degree at risk, but should you indeed choose to pay for the work, you’d better do it right”. An internal report by the Central Statistics Bureau states that 42 percent of teachers teaching mathematics in secondary schools do not have an academic degree in their subject matter. Additionally, 6 percent of high school teachers have no academic education. (Hebrew)
