The Knesset Plenum is expected to approve a bill proposed by MK Zion Finian (Likud) which would match the compensation given to Polio patients who contracted the disease abroad to those who contracted the disease in Israel.  The Knesset’s Ethics Committee decided to allow Finian to promote the bill, despite the objection of the Knesset’s legal advisor, attorney Eyal Yanon, because the bill’s approval would see Finian himself pocket hundreds of thousands of Shekels, as he himself contracted Polio as a child in Morocco.
