Last Tuesday (October 11), a plan to construct a new Jewish neighborhood in East Jerusalem was posted for public objections. The neighborhood would be built in Givat HaMatos, between Jerusalem and Bethlehem. The plan includes the construction of 2,610 housing units, a third of them intended for the expansion of the Palestinian neighborhood of Beit Safafa.
