A Ministry of Education report relates that there are large gaps between the achievements of Ethiopian Jewish students and the rest of the students in the Jewish sector, in all areas covered by the standardized tests. The biggest gap was in the eighth-grade mathematics exam, where the average score in the Jewish sector was 50 points, compared to 26 points amongst the Ethiopians. The report also indicates that students of Ethiopian origin report racist comments at a rate triple that of the general rate amongst students.
