350 pupils in the village of Sawa’yeen still haven’t started the school-year, two months after it officially began. Their parents refuse (Hebrew) to send them to school, saying it is too distant. The original school in which the children studied is in Segev Shalom, but at the decision of the local council and the Ministry of Education, it was decided to transfer them to other schools, some of them as far as 17 kilometers from their homes, with no school rides.
