The Prosecution has filed its response to the Supreme Court of Justice about the motion filed against the unique cultural educational institutions, under which most of the secondary educational institutions in the ultra-orthodox (haredi) are exempt from studying core subjects (including language arts, mathematics, science, technology, and physical education). The Prosecution claims that the arrangement as it stands has existed since the establishment of the state, and that the Lithuanian yeshiva model serves “as a wedge against modernity and the threats of education.”
