The Kastina Military Court convicted an IDF officer who served as a commander in an elite unit for stealing 19 military objects and storing them at a friend’s house in Haifa. The officer was convicted for the theft of mortar shells, a bowie knife, a ceramic vest, seven smoke grenades, secret training materials, machine gun, revolver bullets and more. The court sentenced the officer to a month and a half of army community service and two months of probation. He was also demoted to second lieutenant.
Police: 17 February, 2011
Nazareth District Court has ruled 7 years in prison and 2 years on parole for 22-year-old Border Policeman Idan Samma, from Magen Shaul village, who was convicted of theft for commercial use of rifles and other weapons, from the Border Police base in Gan Ner. Among stolen items were found eight M16 assault rifles, thirty-six shock grenades, and other military equipment such as binoculars and compasses.
