A 70-year-old Ultra-Orthodox woman from Jerusalem was brutally attacked by a number of Ultra-Orthodox men claiming that she is a Christian missionary.
The no. 451 bus from Ashdod to Jerusalem was stopped by ultra-orthodox men because a woman was seated in the front seat of the bus. A police officer who arrived at the scene asked the woman, Tanya Rosenblit, to respect the wishes of the other passengers and sit in the back of the bus.
Many taxi stations in Jerusalem will not employ Arab drivers. The stations claim that members of the Haredi (ultra-orthodox) community will not use a taxi company that employs Arab drivers.
Ultra-Orthodox neighborhood rabbis in Jerusalem are threatening to employ modesty patrols which will implement gender separation in polling stations for the upcoming community administration elections.
The city of Modi’in will only allow residents of the city to enter the park during the Sukkot holiday events. The goal of this restriction is to prevent the ultra-Orthodox residents of nearby Modi’in-Illit from entering the park.
Modi’in residents call upon the City to charge admission money to the Anava park, with the hope of denying entry of the ultra-Orthodox visitors, who come from other localities in the region, such as Ramat Beit Shemesh and Modi’in Illit.
In the town Modi’in Illit, “modesty patrols” were set up to warn and act against Orthodox women not dressed modestly enough, in their opinion.
In the ”Be’er Hatorah” Yeshiva in Beit Shemesh, Sephardi yeshiva students were not allowed to practice rituals in the Sephardi way, and they were forced to practice them the Ashkenazi way.
