The State Prosecutor’s Office is creating a new department to deal with issues related to illegal immigrants. The new department will be headed by attorney Yochi Gnessin, for whom the position was specially created in order to prevent her retirement from the Prosecutor’s Office, and to which she will be appointed without a public tender. Meshulam Nahari (Shas), a minister without portfolio, hid a conflict of interest when he submitted a funding request to the Prime Minister’s Office tenders committee for an exemption. The nonprofit to which Nahari requested the government transfer NIS 15,000 is chaired by the grandfather of Nahari’s daughter-in-law. (Haaretz)
