Large discrepancies were found in the salaries of several senior Tel-Aviv-yafo municipality officials during an audit conducted by the Treasury’s civil-service wages director. The discrepancies range from 3,000 to 14,000 NIS per employee and were, it seems, paid out of the city taxes (arnona) paid by the city’s residents. The municipality and Histadrut Labour Union refuse to hand over their own data for inspection.

Six Arab-Israeli girls aged 14-15 claim they were attacked by four Jews while playing in the south Tel-Aviv-Yafo Menachem Begin public park last week. According to the girls, two men and two women threw stones at them and hit them with sticks while they were in the park in the evening. As a result of the assault, they claim, they sustained injuries and one of them was treated in the city’s Ichilov hospital.
