The Ben Gurion University Student Association has canceled the screening of the movie “Bil’in Habibti” in its cinema, claiming the movie is political.

The Student Union of Ben Gurion University is organizing an honorary concert for soldiers on reserve duty, to which the entry will be permitted only to those carrying a reserve duty card. After one of the University’s professors expressed her disagreement with the concert’s restrictions, the University’s president, Professor Rivka Karmi, said that it should be check whether using the University’s email to express this disagreement, was not an abuse of the University’s computer network.

Samir Branassa, Chair of the Arab Student Committee a the Emek Yizrael College, claims that college administration had been involved in the unification of the two Jewish parties active on campus, with the goal of preventing an Arab victory. Yoram Raz, General Director of Emek Yizrael College, denies that he had initiated the unification, but admitted that he had held secret meetings with the leaders of the Jewish parties, about a week before the elections. He says “I do not want a union that speaks only Arabic. For this reason, I was indeed glad that Samir and his group left the race.” (Hebrew)
