The Director-General of the Ministry of Transportation, Uzi Yizhaki, said that his ministry intends to expand the number of bus lines which are intended for the transport of Palestinians, adding two routes to the two already in place, one to the South Hebron Hills and one to Sha’ar Efraim.

IDF forces confiscated a goat and two kids from a Palestinian herder, Kamel Mahamrah, in the South Hebron Hills. In addition, Mahamreh’s donkey has also disappeared. An IDF spokesperson has stated that the herder entered “a closed firing zone in an attempt to steal ammunition”, even though the fate of the area is still under dispute in the High Court of Justice, and even though the herder himself was not arrested or interrogated. For the past week the IDF has been conducting training exercises in the South Hebron Hills, in an area declared as “Firing Zone 918″ which is near the Palestinian villages of a-Tabban, Mirkez and Jinba, and in violation of a High Court of Justice order that also forbids the villagers’ eviction from their homes. Following a petition by the ‘Regavim’ organization to the High Court for Justice, Civil Administration bulldozers demolished a mosque in the Palestinian village of al Mufaqarah, near the settlement of Avigail in the South Hebron Hills.

Following a negligent investigation of a violent rape in the South Hebron Hills the wrong person, a 16 year old Palestinian, was arrested and held for five months.  Shai Police District arrested the youth even though an eyewitness denied his involvement, he did not match DNA from the crime scene, and no effort was made to track the victim’s stolen cell phone.  Only when the case came to trial did a military judge order the police to continue their investigation, which eventually led to the arrest of the suspected perpetrators and the release of the 16 year old shepherd.
