Parties close to Kadima Chairman, Shaul Mofaz, are checking the options for cancelling a law allowing seven MKs to resign from their party, creating a split. The law was named “the Mofaz law” since it was created to allow Mofaz and a group of Kadima MKs to join the coalition. Now, when Kadima has joined the coalition as a party, persons in Kadima and Likud are trying to make splitting from a party harder.

Yisrael Katz (Likkud), Minister of Transport and Road Safety, said during a visit to the settlement of Itamar that “if the Palestinians take unilateral steps, all of the settlements in Judea and Samaria [West Bank] should be annexed to Israel”. Shaul Mofaz (Kadima), Chairman of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, said similar things.
