A report published by a committee headed by Prof. Arnon Sofer and which was submitted to Minister of Interior Eli Yishai (Shas) concludes that the solution to the “infiltrator” question is a policy of ignoring the UN’s position in regards to the security situation in their countries of origin, transferring them to detention facilities in the south, and formulation of a strict policy in regards to NGOs trying to assist the asylum seekers. Minister of Interior, Eli Yishai (Shas), admits that more than 2,000 North Sudanese were returned to their country “voluntarily” when faced with the choice of a prolonged detention, in violation of the UN’s position that such a return is forbidden since Sudan threatens to punish citizens who were in Israel. The nonprofit to which Nahari requested the government transfer NIS 15,000 is chaired by the grandfather of Nahari’s daughter-in-law. (Haaretz)

Tel Aviv Councilman Benny Babayof, a member of the Shas party, demanded that a video issued by municipality featuring two men holding hands will be revoked. The video was posted on the municipality’s website, various media outlets and social networks.

Minister without portfolio Meshulam Nahari (Shas) secured millions of Shekels in state funds without a tender for El Hama’ayan, a cultural organization operated by his party.  The chairman of the tenders committee in the Prime Minister’s Office which approved the transfer of funds is PMO Deputy Director-General Ran Yishai, cousin of Shas chairman and Interior Minister Eli Yishai.
