A British citizen, who used to be the PR administrator of the Israeli Tourism offices in Britain, committed suicide a few weeks ago. A few months earlier, she sent a letter to the chief of marketing department in the Ministry of Tourism, Oren Drori, claiming that the head of the Ministry of Tourism delegation in Britain, Rafi Shalev, had sexually harassed her. The disciplinary manager for the Civil Service Commission, Asaf Rozenberg, sent a letter to the CEO of the Ministry of Tourism, in which he claimed that the officials did not attend to the worker’s complaint for many months, and failed to forward it to the Commission in time, as dictated by the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Law.

A non commissioned officer convicted of sexual harassment has been sent to 60 days of military labor because it was a one time affair and was mostly verbal (Ma’ariv, February 3, 2012).  This despite the NCO having confined a female soldier and forced a kiss on her.

A non-commissioned officer charged with sexual harassment was sentenced to 60 days of community service within the army. The judge explained that this was a first offence and primarily verbal, despite of the fact that the officer confined a female soldier and forced a kiss on her.
