Mahmoud Qaraeen, a Palestinian member of the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI), was summoned to talk to a Shabak investigator at the Shalem police station in Jerusalem. Qaraeen was questioned about his life and work although he was not suspected of any specific crime, and the questioning was unrelated to any ongoing investigation.

The Interior Ministry denied entry into Israel to a British-Palestinian ophthalmologist, Dr. Ali Dabbagh, invited to run a training course at Jerusalem’s Augusta Victoria Hospital on treatment of eye diseases and the prevention of blindness in diabetics. Dabbagh was told that he was “cleared” by the security, yet the immigration office refused to issue a visa for him until Haaretz journalist queried the ministry about this decision.
