The Israel Religious Action Center (IRAC) issued a report dealing with incitement to racism by rabbis in Israel. According to the report, there is an escalation in racist statements by rabbis recently, but the enforcement policy of these crimes renders the relevant law ineffective.

Politicos in the ultra-Orthodox settlement city of Modi’in Ilit married off a 13 year-old girl this week, as a “correction” for starting to see a 16 year-old. The marriage took place in opposition to a court order forbidding the parents from marrying off their daughter, and against the protest of the city’s rabbis.

Not long before the vote on the admission committees bill, an additional change has been made to the wording of the bill: according to the proposal of MK Michael Ben Ari, in a settlement in which 80% of the residents agree, the settlement rabbi will be the final determining factor to make the decision and determine whether or not a candidate is worthy of being admitted to a settlement.

Senior Rabbis, including “Adjudicator of the Generation” Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, have published Halachic adjudication forbidding volunteering in Magen David Adom, on the ground of the first aid organization’s latest trials to recruit ultra-orthodox youth for national service in it. The Rabbis wrote that Magen David Adom is the only official national organization without a Rabbi, and warned the youth not to volunteer in it, not even for the sake of saving lives.
