Palestinian prisoner Hana Shalbi has been on hunger strike ever since she was placed in administrative detention on February 16th. Shalbi says she was subjected to an embarrassing body search by a male Israeli soldier while being arrested, and that she was assaulted when she resisted arrest. In addition she describes threats and humiliation during her imprisonment.

Representatives of the Israeli Bar Association visited a prisoner serving a lengthy sentence, and according to their report of the visit, his complaints – according to which his rights were denied and he was forced to defecate in public into a plastic bag – were justified.
