Slippery Slope

The Jerusalem District Court has released three right-wing activist to house arrest due to the failure of the police to file indictments in their case in a timely fashion.  The three are suspected of vandalizing mosques in the West Bank.

The slogans ”Happy Hanukkah – price tag”, “Jesus is a son of a bitch”, and “Victory for the Maccabees” were spray painted on the walls of the Monastery of the Cross in Jerusalem and on a car that was parked nearby.  In addition the tires of three nearby vehicles were slashed. (Haaretz)

The Shai District Police arrested three young men on suspicion of setting a vehicle on fire in the Palestinian village of ad-Dhahiriya, south of Hebron, and spray painting the slogans “Price Tag” and “Congratulations Effy”. (Ynetnews)

Unknown vandalists slashed the tires of 8 Palestinian owned vehicles in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat.  One of the vehicles had the slogan “Price Tag Gaza” spray-painted on it.

Approximately 300 olive trees owned by Palestinians were cut down near the settlement of Carmel in Mount Hebron.  Near the trees was spray-painted the slogan “regards from Beer-Sheva and Tel-Aviv”.

Racist slogans against Arabs, such as “Price tag” and “death to Arabs”, were spray-painted on shop doors in Jerusalem’s Old City.

An Arab owned vehicle was spray painted with racist grafiti in Jerusalem’s Sarei Israel street.  Among the slogans sprayed were: “Price Tag”, “Regards from the Knit (skullcap)” and “Arabs get out of the country”.

Palestinians from the Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat have complained that the tires of two vehicles in the neighborhood were slashed.  In addition, the cars were spray painted with the slogans “price tag”, “regards from Etinger”, “the knit yarmulkes”, “Ma’ale HaZeitim”, and “freedom for the homeland”. According to Palestinians from the village of Hasaka in Gush Etzion, Jews infiltrated the village and spray painted “Price Tag” slogans on one of the village buildings.

The tires of seven vehicles were punctured in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat, and one of the vehicles was sprayed with the word “HaUlpana”.
