The Office of the Public Defender accused the Southern District Police of repeated infringement of detainees’ rights by forbidding them to receive legal advice before police interrogation. The court also criticized the police in several cases where investigators refused to wait for a defense lawyer before beginning interrogation, thus preventing them from consulting with a lawyer.

Closed Society: November 13, 2011
Rabbi David Druckman, Chief Rabbi of Kiryat-Motzkin, was questioned by the Police on suspicion that he signed a manifesto calling on Jews not to hire Arabs. Following his interrogation he said that “the most normal thing is for a Jew to hire only Jews”.
