A report prepared by “Peace Now” determines that in 2012 developers started construction of 1,400 new housing units, and 6,000 new housing units were approved by the government. (Haaretz)

Peace Now has revealed that two new illegal outposts have been built in the West Bank since 2005. The first outpost, Talei Tal, was built near the settlement of Talmon. The second outpost, Tzofim North, has been built near Qalqilya.

A statement issued by Peace Now declared that, “Now is the time for the Israeli public as a whole to boycott the Amir family, first and foremost Haggai Amir, to refuse to employ them, to refuse to purchase goods and services from them, and to continue to punish them through the actions of citizens, even when they are outside of prison walls.” The statement was issued upon the release from prison of Haggai Amir, brother of Yigal Amir – murderer of the late PM Yizhak Rabin.

Peace Now General Director Yariv Oppenheimer and other senior staff of the organization received e-mails which included explicit death threats. It is suspected that the sender of these threats is the same youth recently charged with spraying “Death to Arabs” graffiti in Jerusalem.

The car windows of Hadar Alexander, 31, a Peace Now activist, were shattered today in Jerusalem. Vandals also slashed the tires and spray painted the word “Traitor” on the car’s hood. The person/s who damaged the vehicle most likely noticed the politically affiliated stickers on the car, saying “Peace”, “Not Loyal To Lieberman” and “Patriotic Lefty”.

Committees of settlers in the West Bank filed a complaint in the Modi’in police station against the general secretary of Peace Now organization, Yariv Oppenheimer, on the suspicion of breaking the treason and espionage sections of the new Citizenship Law. The settlers base their complaint on documents published by wikileaks web site, which state that Oppenheimer and Peace Now have been providing the US embassy in Israel with information about construction in the settlements. The settlers claim, that this hurts the sovereignty of the state of Israel, and it should be regarded as treason.

Websites of political organizations, both left- and right-wing, were blocked for viewing at the Ben Gurion Airport. The sites are blocked by a filtering company that classifies them as “dangerous”.
