Adi Elsin, 30, an inspector and intelligence coordinator in the Population, Immigration and Border Authority’s Oz enforcement unit, was indicted for allegedly assaulting and extorting Indian labor migrants, and in one case he is suspected of performing indecent acts on a female foreign worker. Military and Security Forces: July 13, 2012
Central Command Chief, Maj. Gen. Nitzan Alon, issued a new order allowing inspectors from the Interior Ministry’s enforcement unit, called Oz unit, to remove any foreigners found in the West Bank without a permit, including in area A. This step was struck down in the past by the High Court of Justice, on the grounds that the Interior Ministry inspectors do not have authority in the West Bank.

Police: June 9, 2011
A confrontation broke out between the Oz unit officers and Freudor Kitate, a diplomat from the Embassy of Congo, in the Hatikva neighborhood in Tel – Aviv. The Ambassador, Marcel Makangu, said that the officers did not accept the diplomatic certificate presented to them by Mr. Kitate and ordered him to present a passport. The Population and Migration Authority reported that Kitate refused to identify himself and cursed the inspectors.

Neot Hakikar farmers say that OZ unit inspectors were brutal in their conduct towards migrant laborers employed there under valid licenses. The farmers also complain that the inspectors broke into warehouses and damaged them as part of spot-inspections they held on their farms.
