The Cabinet approved the construction of temporary housing for the residents of the illegal outpost of Migron, as well as construction of a backup site in case settlement in the first site does not proceed. The cost of constructing both neighborhoods will be approximately 53 million NIS.

The civil administration’s zoning committee has rejected a government proposal to legalize the outpost of Sansana in the south Hebron hills, saying there is no justification for a new settlement in the area because it is possible to build within existing ones.

Outposts and agricultural lands which were taken over by settlers in the West Bank are incurring into Area B, in violation of the Oslo Accords signed between Israel and the Palestinians. One of the outposts’ houses is built on a nature reserve, east of Bethlehem, in violation of the Wye River Memorandum, signed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then Chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat in May1998.
