The State Comptroller, Yosef Shapira, has determined that Nazereth-Illit mayor Shimon Gapso tried to fire the city’s treasurer, Ofer Levy, because he tried to expose corruption within city hall.

The State Comptroller, retired judge Yosef Shapira, faults elected officials and public servants with meddling in the work of municipal prosecutors’ departments.  Among the cities in which these violations occured are Nazereth-Illit, Carmiel, and Beer-Sheva. (Haaretz)
