Two Palestinians, Mo’atassem Tamimi, 15, and Udai Tamimi, 20 years of age, claim that interrogators have used violence against them to make them give a testimony which would incriminate Bassem Tamimi, a Palestinian activist who is being tried on charges of organizing protests and riots.

Following clashes between settlers of Neve Tzuf and Palestinians of the village of Nabi Salah, a member of the community council, Eran Segal, warned that if the IDF did not respond, the settlers would consider to respond by themselves.

Last Saturday, IDF forces were filmed firing tear gas and throwing stun grenades towards Palestinian homes in Nabi Saleh in the middle of the night. The IDF Spokesman responded that “at the time of the described event, tires were set on fire near Nabi Saleh, and a roadblock made of stones was set on a nearby road”.

Fadel Tamimi, a 52-year-old Palestinian, is being held in custody for two weeks on the suspicion of throwing rocks at a soldier. The police investigator could not confirm the alibi given by Tamimi because the telephone number he was given was on the Palestinian Wataniya cellular network and he was unable to call it from the telephone he was using. Military judge Maj. Avraham Einhorn ordered Tamimi held in custody until the end of proceedings.
