Minister of Culture and Sport, Limor Livnat, has expressed understanding for exclusion of women in Haredi neighborhoods stating that “I am not sure if it bothers me if there is a decision to segregate buses in Modi’in Illit or Beitar Illit. That is their way of life. If it does not bother any woman, I am not sure if it bothers me.”

The city of Modi’in will only allow residents of the city to enter the park during the Sukkot holiday events. The goal of this restriction is to prevent the ultra-Orthodox residents of nearby Modi’in-Illit from entering the park.

Military and Security Forces: 21 December, 2010
The Mayor of Ni’lin and one of the residents of that village have appealed to the Supreme Court with a demand to demolish the police and fire-fighter buildings in the nearby settlement of Modiin Illit. They claim that the buildings had been constructed on land owned by the Palestinian resident. (Hebrew) Reports in the Hebrew press mentioned only the names of the representing attorneys, and not the parties to the suit.
