The Ministry of Justice is formulating legislation which would expand state agencies’ authority to conduct telephone and e-mail surveillance of Israeli citizens. The proposed legislation would allow agencies such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Garden Authority, and the Antiquities’ Authority to use information gleaned from electronic surveillance in their investigations.
