Tel Aviv Religious Council published a collection of Halachic rulings, aimed to answer questions regarding migrant workers and refugees. Among the questions: Is it permissible to eat a dish prepared by a migrant worker, can one eat from a pot from which a migrant worker ate, and is it required to purify a kitchen utensil in the Mikveh, in case a migrant worker touched it.

At the request of Minister of the Interior, Eli Yishai, the state attorney appealed for a renewal of court deliberations of the Supreme Court of Justice ruling that the ”Pregnant Foreign Worker Procedure”, which allows the deportation of a foreign worker who has given birth to a child after completion of the three months maternity leave to which she is entitled, is an illegal procedure and is to be annulled.

The Supreme Court criticized holding minors who are the children of African refugees and migrant workers in Prison Service facilities. During the court session it turned out that in the facility, which is supposed to be for care and education, children are sent for hours to an empty “thinking room” and are sometimes restrained with handcuffs.
