Chairman of the Knesset’s Constitution, Law and Justice Committee, MK David Rotem (Yisrael Beitenu), has asked the Central Elections Committee to bar Arab party Balad from the forthcoming elections to the 19th Knesset.  MKs Michael Ben-Ari and Aryeh Eldad (Otzma LeYisrael) asked to bar both Balad and Ra’am-Ta’al, another Arab party, while MK Ofir Akunis (Likud) has asked that MK Hanin Zo’abi (Balad) be disqualified as a candidate. Tel-Aviv-Yafo Council member Shlomo Maslawi (Likud), wrote a letter of complaint to Minister of Education Gideon Sa’ar (Likud) about the appearance of Marak Levinsky soup kitchen activists in front of Tel-Aviv-Yafo high-school students, and demanded that he forbid their entrance to the city’s educational institutes.

The chairman of the Central Elections Committee, Justice Elyakim Rubinstein, warned MK Haim Katz (Likud), who is also  the chairman of Israel Aerospace Industries’ Labour Union, against using the resources of IAI for his Likud primaries campaign.

Furthermore, a special ballot box was placed in Moshav Hadid, for IAI employees to vote in the primaries during their workday, with ushers distributing lists of favored candidates.

MK Danny Danon (Likud) announced that he will ask Attorney General, Yehuda Weinstein, to open an investigation of MK Hanin Zoabi (Balad), following her decision during operation Pillar of Cloud to observe a moment of silence for the “martyrs” killed by the IDF.

MK Ofir Akunis (Likud) asked the Attorney General, Yehuda Weinstein, to open a criminal investigation of MK Afou Agbaria (Hadash) on the charge of incitement against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.  The request follows a status on his Facebook page of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu with blood-stained hands and blood-splattered clothes at the start of the Pillar of Defense military operation.  The caption under the image says: “Citizens of Israel, vote for me! Look, I have fresh blood on my hands!” (Arutz7)

Culture and Sports Minister Limor Livnat (Likud) established the Judea and Samaria Museum Council for the purpose of providing government monetary assistance to such institutions. Until now, Israeli museums in the West Bank received no government support because Israeli law does not apply in those territories. Finance Minister Yuval Shteinitz (Likud), who received an award on Monday from the settlement movement, said during a radio interview that budgets for Judea and Samaria were doubled by the current government, but that it was done with a low profile for fear that the move would be foiled by elements in Israel and abroad. Security personnel at the house of Minister Moshe Yaalon (Likud) prevented Israel Land Administration inspectors from entering the house which is partially built on public land to make mesurements. This in breach of the law that allows inspectors to enter “public land at any time to examine its use and maintenance, as well as the rights of anyone using or inhabiting them to do so.”

Likud convention members voted on the agreement between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman.  The members of the convention were required to vote on the agreement without seeing it or knowing its details.
