The Likud Party will support the convening of a parliamentary committee of inquiry to be headed by MK Dani Danon to investigate the left wing organizations. This decision was taken following a heated debate within the party. The proposal was passed by a large majority, with two nays: Ministers Benny Begin and Dan Meridor. In an additional vote it was decided that the matter would be subject to parliamentary enforcement, and the entire faction would cast its Knesset vote in favor of establishing he committee. “The Likud movement has lived up to its principles; the bank accounts that compensate the families of martyrs and fuel the organizations of the left will be promptly shut down,” said Danon after the debate.
