Ronen Shoval, Chairman of far-right Im Tirzu movement, gave a lecture in front of students at Bet-She’an’s “Shaked” religious high school on the legacy of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.  Shoval said that Rabin opposed a Palestinian state and that the Oslo agreements created the rift in the nation which preceded Rabin’s assassination.

According to a recent study by a group of academics, artists and students, 10% of the academic faculty in Israel are labeled by the organizations “Im Tirzu”, “IsraCampus” and “Israel Academia Monitor” as anti-Zionist and their publications and statements are quoted disapprovingly.

Representatives of “Im Tirzu” movement called Eyal Betzer, head of the Yizrael Valley Regional Council, to cancel the performance of singer Marina Maximilian Blumin on the tribute evening dedicated to IDF recruits and soldiers, since she did not serve in the army. The Regional Council reported that the singer was released from service due to medical reasons.

“Im Tirtzu” activist have begun distributing a new booklet titled nakba kharta – ”Nakba BS”, which claims the Nakba is “an impudent scam”. The booklet is initially being distributed in schools and universities.

The Galilee Development Authority published a call, on its website, to join a founding group for the “Im Tirzu” movement, in Nazareth Illit. The website states that “Nazareth Illit has been in recent years suffering negative migration of Jewish population, and thus also losing its Jewish Zionist spirit”. The specific post was later removed from the website.

The “Im Tirzu” movement has launched a campaign in which fake job ad has human rights organizations looking for “subversive types who slander against IDF soldiers”. The ad says “Israeli workers needed for an international delegitimization campaign. Preferably conscientious objecters, draft-dodgers, or ‘intellectuals’ specialized in hypocrisy, arrogance, and libel. Base salary — $9,000 monthly. Job includes: promoting an international boycott on Israel, persecuting IDF officers and giving false testimony to international committees. MK Danny Danon today responded to Im Tirzu’s report, saying “we are in an unrelenting crusade against gross intervention by foreign anti-Israeli countries against the state of Israel. It is time to shut all sources of Arab or European funding that feed incitement against Israel, and force upon us their attitudes though the naiveté that exists in a democratic regime.”

MK Faina Kirshenbaum (Yisrael Beitenu) tabled a motion to create a parliamentary investigation committee to “ascertain the part of Israeli organizations in the de-legitimization crusade against the IDF soldiers and commanders, and the ways these organizations are financed.” The Im Tirzu movement approved: “We hope the investigative committee wlll manage to track down the vast financial sources of these organizations, and find out whether numerous Israeli organizations act as front organizations and agents of influence of hostile bodies”.
