During a meeting of the Knesset’s Committee for the Advancement of Women, MK Anastassia Michaeli (Yisrael Beitenu) said: ”When I turn on Channel 10 I see entertainment programs supposedly showing how nice it is to be gay.  Why should my children have to hear how fun and nice it is to wear a dress and put on makeup? Why does Channel 10 broadcast such programs?” She further said that ”most gay people suffered sexual trauma at a young age and commit suicide at 40.” (Haaretz)

A man assaulted a gay couple in south Tel Aviv. He shouted at them, kicked their car and threatened one of them with a knife.

A gay man who was looking for a sexual partner for the night in the area of Tel-Aviv’s central bus station was assaulted by three men who cursed him, pepper sprayed his face, and ran off.

An Ort  high-school teacher in Ariel told her class that she “personally cannot stand homos.”  A student asked her to apologize at the end of class, but even though the teacher promised she would discuss it in class she did not apologize.

Members of the LGBT community who frequent the community center in Gan Meir Park in Tel-Aviv claim that  the number of violent assaults directed at them in the area has increased lately.

A woman was attacked on a bus, after she revealed her sexual orientation, while talking on her phone. Another woman who came to her aid, was also assaulted and injured.

A complaint was filed with the police last Thursday against the web site “Real Right-wing Movement,” regarding incitement to commit murder. The web site features multiple calls for murder of members of the gay community. A full week after filing the complaint, the discussion forum on the web site continues, and some of the comments published there are still calling for murder of homosexuals.
